• Chico firefighters, residents mark 9/11 at memorial featuring World Trade Center steel (krcrtv.com) — Chico residents and firefighters gathered at Fire Station Five's 9/11 memorial, built around a piece of World Trade Center steel, to honor lives lost and share personal stories 25 years later. Speakers stressed that for younger Chico community members, "never forget" now means learning these experiences firsthand so the human side of that day isn't reduced to numbers.

• Chico State shuts out Hawaii Pacific to enter conference play with three-game win streak (theorion.com) — Chico State men's soccer heads into conference play on a three-game shutout streak after a 2–0 home win over Hawaii Pacific, with free admission for students at University Soccer Stadium. Players credit disciplined team defense and strong goalkeeping, and they're asking the Chico community to show up Friday night when they host Cal State East Bay.
