4. Bill to revamp Sacramento homeless policy is on Newsom's desk. What would it do? (sacbee.com) — Citrus Heights could be required to join Sacramento County and nearby cities in a new joint powers authority overseeing homelessness funding and planning if Gov. Newsom signs SB 802. Supporters say the regional board would improve coordination, while county leaders warn it could add costly bureaucracy and potentially spark legal challenges over state authority and local control.

5. Southern Californian spicy chicken restaurant to open location in Natomas (sacbee.com) — Citrus Heights residents already have an Angry Chickz on Sunrise Boulevard, and now the spicy chicken chain is adding a new location in North Natomas later this month.
