• Fire destroys mobile home in Citrus Heights (citrusheightssentinel.com) — A late-night fire destroyed a mobile home at Greenback Estates in Citrus Heights, drawing police and Sacramento Metro Fire crews but fortunately causing no reported injuries or damage to neighboring units. Officials say the cause is still under investigation and they have not yet located the home's owner. The trailer is now boarded up while authorities work to determine what happened.
   

• Wrongly arrested man alleges jail cell was smeared with blood, 'filthy' with diarrhea (sacbee.com) — A lawsuit claims a man wrongly arrested after a 2025 Citrus Heights traffic stop was held for hours in Sacramento County Main Jail under filthy conditions, allegedly without basic necessities. The suit names the City of Citrus Heights, a local officer, the county, and six deputies, seeking damages for false imprisonment and emotional distress. Officials largely declined comment, citing ongoing litigation.
