An 18‑month update on the city's 2025‑27 Economic Development Work Plan highlighted strong chamber membership growth, dozens of ribbon cuttings, and hundreds of local business-focused events. 
2. Citrus Heights Water District Launches New Utility Billing System (citrusheightsmessenger.com) — Citrus Heights Water District has rolled out a new online billing and payment system that requires every local customer to set up a fresh account when their next paper bill arrives. Service, rates, and billing cycles won't change, but residents must re-enroll in autopay and paperless billing, with tutorials and in-person workshops available to help with the transition.
3. Citrus Town Center Invites Families to Celebrate 'Bubbleween' on Oct. 10 (citrusheightsmessenger.com) — Families in Citrus Heights are invited to Bubbleween, a free Halloween-themed morning of bubbles, balloon twisting, Candy Lane, and music at Citrus Town Center on Saturday, Oct. 10. Costumes are encouraged, admission is free, and a suggested $5 donation will support Citrus Heights HART's work with vulnerable residents in the local community.
4. Garbage truck catches fire in Citrus Heights due to discarded Tesla battery (citrusheightssentinel.com) — A garbage truck fire in Citrus Heights on Monday afternoon forced crews to dump trash onto Gardenvine Avenue near Gingerblossom Drive so firefighters could put out flames sparked by a discarded Tesla wall battery. No one was hurt, but the response from Sac Metro Fire and Citrus Heights Police caused temporary road closures and left debris scattered across the street.
