La Verne Police Get A Touch Of Pink For Breast Cancer Awareness
The La Verne Police Department will sell pink versions of its patch as a part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

LA VERNE, CA — The uniforms for the La Verne Police Department will get a little touch of color this October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Officers will don pink patches on their uniforms as part of the Pink Patch Project, a national effort among law enforcement agencies to help boost breast cancer awareness, organizers said.
Residents will also have the opportunity to get pink patches of their own. Patches will be available for sale in the department’s lobby for $10 each. The lobby is open for patch sales Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

All proceeds from patch sales will go toward the City of Hope National Medical Center for breast cancer research, the department said.
The department will also hold a fundraiser for breast cancer research at Red Devil Pizza on Oct. 12. The restaurant will donate 20 percent of a diner’s bill to the City of Hope when presented with an online flyer from the department, officials said.
