Two Clovis councilmembers are vying for upcoming county supervisor board vacancy (fresnobee.com) — Two Clovis City Council members, Mayor Vong Mouanoutoua and Mayor Pro Tem Diane Pearce, are already campaigning to replace Nathan Magsig on the Fresno County Board of Supervisors. Their competing visions could shape funding, public safety, and social policy for Clovis and the wider District 5 once a special election is called next spring.
   

2. City of Clovis Announces New Fire Chief (kmjnow.com) — Clovis has selected longtime deputy chief Jason Ralls as the city’s new fire chief, with formal council confirmation expected at the June 15 meeting. Ralls, a nearly 30-year veteran of Clovis Fire, will oversee 83 firefighters, 8 support staff, and a $31.5 million budget as he succeeds retiring Chief Chris Ekk later this summer.
   

3. Displaced Clovis family seeks help for dog injured in fire (yourcentralvalley.com) — A Clovis family is displaced after a Wednesday kitchen fire at their Peach Avenue apartment left one of their dogs in critical condition. Firefighters rescued both pets, but mounting veterinary bills have the family turning to the community for help through an online fundraiser as they navigate housing and recovery.
   

4. Operation Hands Down disrupts Central California gangs (ca.gov) — A major gang takedown across the Central Valley involved Clovis police alongside numerous local, state, and federal agencies, resulting in 69 arrests and dozens of seized guns. Officials say disrupting these organizations should quickly reduce violence in the region, and they’re asking anyone with tips to contact Fresno County Sheriff’s Office or Valley Crime Stoppers.
