• Colusa Shooters Conclude Collegiate Careers (colusacountynews.com) — Colusa County youth shooting standouts Brandon Nord and Chase Carrere have wrapped up their collegiate careers on the national stage, capping journeys that began on local ranges. Competing in San Antonio, Carrere earned Second Team All-American honors with standout trap and skeet scores, while Nord battled through injury to finish multiple events. Fellow Colusa product Gus Armstrong also posted strong performances for Texas A&M.
   

• California predeploys fire crews to six Sacramento Valley counties before red flag conditions hit (thecooldown.com) — Colusa County is one of six Sacramento Valley counties receiving extra fire engines, water tenders, a helicopter, and personnel ahead of dangerous red flag and heat conditions. State officials say prepositioning crews can dramatically speed wildfire response and reduce damage to homes, infrastructure, and air quality. Residents are urged to prepare evacuation plans, go-bags, and sign up for emergency alerts.
