San Francisco's immigration court permanently closes, shifts cases to Concord (nbcbayarea.com) — San Francisco's busy immigration court has permanently closed, shifting more than 115,000 pending cases to the already backlogged Concord Immigration Court about 30 miles away. For Concord-area residents, that means more hearings, judges, and federal activity based here, along with potential delays and confusion for immigrants and attorneys now navigating cases through the local courthouse.
   

3. Concord Police Report Multiple Felony Arrests, Burglaries During Recent Week (claycord.com) — Concord police logged several serious felony arrests between Aug. 26 and Sept. 1, including alleged robbery, rape, and multiple assault-with-a-deadly-weapon cases across city streets and shopping areas. Officers also handled vehicle theft, shoplifting at Sunvalley Shopping Center, and other burglary, DUI, and warrant arrests, outlining a busy week of public safety activity.
   

4. Contra Costa County: What were the best deals for residential properties sold the week of July 27? (eastbaytimes.com) — Recent Contra Costa County home sales included a standout Concord condominium on Willow Pass Court that closed for $1.25 million, reflecting strong demand for larger units. Across the county, 211 properties changed hands that week, with average prices around $1 million and several Lafayette, Walnut Creek, and other East Bay homes also topping the list.
   

5. High school football 2026: Week 2 scores, Saturday's schedule (eastbaytimes.com) — Concord High's football team dominated Mt. Diablo 76–7 in Week 2 action, a standout result in a busy slate of Bay Area games. The roundup also lists other recent scores and upcoming matchups, giving local fans a quick way to track regional rivals and plan which contests to follow this weekend.
