• Gov. Newsom signs bill advancing Concord Naval Weapons Station redevelopment (eastbaytimes.com) — Concord's long-planned Naval Weapons Station redevelopment just cleared a major hurdle, with Gov. Gavin Newsom signing SB 328 to support the city's project. City leaders say the plan could bring over 12,000 new homes, thousands of jobs, and hundreds of acres of parks, as Concord and developer Brookfield now move into detailed community planning for the site.

• Bay Area heat, fire weather risks continue through Thursday (almanacnews.com) — Concord is expected to hit around 100 degrees as a heat advisory continues through Wednesday, with officials warning about health risks for anyone without adequate cooling or hydration. Fire danger will stay elevated through Thursday, and residents are urged to shift outdoor activities to cooler hours and never leave people or pets in parked cars as hot, dry conditions persist.
