• League Presses County For ICE Non-Cooperation Ordinance (patch.com) — Immigrant rights advocates are urging Contra Costa County supervisors to adopt an ICE Non-cooperation Ordinance while also rallying support outside the federal immigration court now operating in Concord's Gateway office building. Local groups hold regular vigils there to support immigrants and raise awareness, as the League of Women Voters and allies press for greater transparency and protections at both county and state levels.
   

• 60% of solar energy system has gone offline for Mount Diablo school district (timesheraldonline.com) — Mount Diablo Unified School District in Concord has seen 60% of its $75 million solar energy system go offline, forcing the district to spend an estimated extra $2 million a year on power. • Bay Area man paralyzed after saving 2 children from ocean rip tide (nbcbayarea.com) — A 42-year-old Concord father of five is paralyzed from the neck down after breaking his neck while rescuing two children from a rip current in San Clemente; both kids survived. Friends from Clayton and his family are rallying around him, staying hopeful as they face long-term medical and financial challenges together, including a fundraiser for his care.
