Coronado police beat would-be bank robber to the door (coronadotimes.com) — Coronado police quickly arrested a suspected would-be bank robber at a Wells Fargo on Orange Avenue after a teller reported a robbery in progress Tuesday afternoon. With help from a sheriff's helicopter and National City police, officers took the man into custody without injuries. Anyone who saw what happened is asked to call Coronado Police Department's main line.

Meals On Wheels Coronado (coronadonewsca.com) — Coronado residents who need help with daily meals can sign up for affordable, home-delivered lunches and dinners prepared by Meals on Wheels San Diego and brought by Sharp Coronado Hospital Auxiliary volunteers. Beyond nutrition, each weekday delivery doubles as a wellness check for clients. Volunteers will share information and brochures at the Oct. 6 Senior Social at the Spreckels Center.

Dumping out water in buckets, pet bowls, birdbaths, and neglected pools helps stop mosquitoes from breeding nearby.
   

4. Coronado Boys' Water Polo Team Goes 2-2 At AFC Tourney (coronadonewsca.com) — Coronado High School's boys' water polo team just wrapped up the Americas Finest City Tournament with a hard-fought 2-2 record, highlighted by two dramatic 11-10 wins.
