• Coronado police beat would-be bank robber to the door (coronadotimes.com) — Coronado police quickly arrested a suspected bank robber Tuesday afternoon after he handed a note demanding money at a Wells Fargo on Orange Avenue, preventing any injuries. With help from regional law enforcement and the FBI, the Coronado Police Department is continuing the investigation and asks anyone with information to call their non-emergency line.
   

• Three Coronado residents have West Nile Virus; County to conduct pesticide spray (coronadotimes.com) — Three Coronado residents have been diagnosed with West Nile virus, prompting the County of San Diego to spray pesticides by truck this week between 2nd Street, Ocean Boulevard, F Avenue, and Glorietta Boulevard. Treatments will run from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. Friday and Saturday, with possible follow-ups, and residents are urged to reduce standing water, use repellents, and report mosquito problems.
