• Could Flock cameras wing their way out of Costa Mesa? Heads will weigh in Tuesday. (latimes.com subscription) — Costa Mesa’s City Council will decide Tuesday whether to keep or potentially end its contract for 46 Flock license plate reader cameras, amid sharp debate over crime-fighting benefits versus privacy and misuse concerns. The council will also weigh placing two November ballot measures before voters: a possible overhaul of business license fees and a proposed—but staff-opposed—increase to the city’s hotel bed tax.
