• Firefighters stop vegetation fire in popular Silicon Valley preserve close to Apple headquarters (sfchronicle.com) — Firefighters quickly stopped a vegetation fire Thursday afternoon at Rancho San Antonio Open Space Preserve in the foothills near Cupertino, close to Apple's headquarters. Crews hiked into terrain inaccessible to engines, halted the fire's forward progress in under an hour, and are still determining the burn size and cause while urging extreme caution with any open flame in local open-space areas.
