Students from Athenian, Monte Vista, and San Ramon Valley High earned this distinction, joining 68 semifinalists across the San Ramon Valley Unified School District and moving one step closer to valuable college scholarships.
   

• RESTORE launches Fall fundraising season to expand life-changing safe homes in Contra Costa County (contracostaherald.com) — A Contra Costa nonprofit is kicking off its fall fundraising season tonight with a major event at Community Presbyterian Church in Danville, aiming to expand faith-based transitional housing. Residents are invited to hear powerful personal testimonials and help RESTORE raise $150,000 toward opening a fifth safe home serving families in need across the county.
   

• This Bay Area town to host stars from cult classic 'Gilmore Girls' for 3-day festival (ktvu.com) — Downtown Danville will transform into a Stars Hollow-inspired setting October 23–25 as the Flannel & Foliage festival brings "Gilmore Girls" cast members for panels, photo ops, and themed activities. Locals can enjoy free general admission, autumn markets, trivia, screenings, and special paid VIP experiences, including dinners at Bridges and a picnic at Hap Magee Ranch Park.
