• Danville Streets To Close For Hot Summer Sundays (patch.com) — Downtown Danville drivers and visitors should plan around multiple street closures this Sunday as the Hot Summer Sundays Car Show takes over Hartz Avenue and nearby roads. From early morning through late afternoon, hundreds of classic and custom cars, live music, and vendors will fill the area, with closures stretching from Railroad Avenue to several surrounding streets.

• Prep football roundup: Marin Catholic, San Marin open with losses (marinij.com) — Monte Vista opened its football season in Danville with a 27-10 home win over Marin Catholic, powered by big passing plays and a late defensive stand. San Marin, meanwhile, struggled at home against St. Ignatius, surrendering several long touchdowns after briefly tying the game in the second quarter.
