ā¢ Pasadena Humane to Provide Duarte Animal Services Starting in 2026 (pasadenanow.com) ā Duarteās animal services are set to shift to Pasadena Humane starting July 1, 2026, with pet licensing moving over in 2027. This new partnership means Duarte residents and their pets will gain access to expanded sheltering, adoption, low-cost vet care, and wildlife support along the 210 corridor.

ā¢ Ethnic studies is providing space to hear from communities and from points of view that are not traditionally covered in our history classes. (laist.com) ā Duarte High School freshmen are using a new ethnic studies class to uncover and preserve the nearly erased Rocktown neighborhood, once home to many Black and Mexican American families in what is now Duarte. Their oral-history project, built with help from UCLA and showcased at the Duarte Historical Museum, is deepening studentsā connection to the city and could lead to a permanent Rocktown marker in town. ā¢ BAFF-R CAR T Therapy May Overcome Antigen Escape in Relapsed B-Cell Lymphoma (hmpgloballearningnetwork.com) ā Researchers at City of Hope in Duarte helped test a new BAFFāRātargeted CAR T-cell therapy that produced durable remissions in a small group of patients with hardātoātreat Bācell lymphomas. Presented at a major European cancer conference, the early results suggest this approach might help patients whose disease no longer responds to standard CD19ādirected CAR T treatments. Ā Ā Ā
