New Superintendent Selected In Dublin
The board selected Dr. Matt Campbell, who has served as assistant superintendent of educational services since 2019.

DUBLIN, CA — The Dublin Unified School District Board of Trustees selected Matt Campbell, the current assistant superintendent of educational services, as the DUSD superintendent. Pending successful contract negotiations, Campbell will begin at the start of the 2026-27 school year. He will replace Chris Funk, who will retire in June after serving five years as superintendent.
Campbell has served as the district’s assistant superintendent of educational services since 2019, and brings nearly three decades of experience of public education with him. He began as a social studies teacher and basketball coach at Dublin High School in 1996, and later served in instructional and leadership roles in Pleasanton, Walnut Creek, and Fremont, including as vice principal, principal, and director of student support services. He served as interim superintendent after returning to DUSD in 2019, according to the district.
He holds a doctorate in education from Saint Mary’s College of California.
