They now move on in a highly competitive process that could earn them part of $24 million in scholarships next spring, alongside nearly 200 other top students from across San Diego County.

Hit-And-Run Driver Sought After Pedestrian Seriously Injured In Encinitas (patch.com) — Encinitas residents are being urged to help identify a hit-and-run driver after a 49-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured on Glen Arbor Drive on Aug. 16. Investigators believe a silver 2012-14 Toyota Prius V with possible front-end damage and a missing passenger-side headlight washer was involved, and they're asking anyone with information or video to contact authorities or Crime Stoppers.
