Magnolia Public Schools Educator Receives Top Award

Magnolia Public Schools celebrates Guadalupe Covarrubias, recipient of the 2026 Hart Vision Teacher of the Year Award (video link) by the California Charter Schools Association (CCSA).

Covarrubias, a teacher at Magnolia Science Academy-2 in the San Fernando Valley, is known for her transformational leadership, which strengthens staff bonds, connects the school community to the richness of its cultural diversity through innovative educational programming, and supports student academic excellence.

Each year, CCSA recognizes exceptional educators who are drivers of innovation and excellence at their schools. According to a CCSA press release, Covarrubias is “an irreplaceable leader whose influence will last for years to come.” She was honored on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at the 2026 California Charter Schools Conference, which was held at the Long Beach Convention Center.
