Multicultural Food Festival at Magnolia Science Academy in Reseda

On Wednesday, March 25, local residents got a chance to try foods from around the world at Magnolia Science Academy-1 Reseda’s Fourth Annual Multicultural Food Festival. The event, celebrating diversity and themed: Take Your Tummy Around the World, was presented by the school’s Parent Task Force (PTF). The PTF said the “culinary adventure,” representing 11 countries, offered a zest of Reseda’s “extraordinary tastes and diverse community.”

“We’re thrilled to offer this event as a way of celebrating the school’s rich diversity, and uplifting all cultures,” said Brad Plonka, principal at Magnolia Science Academy 1. “The school’s Parent Task Force” did extraordinary work to make this event happen. Each year it gets bigger and better. We’re grateful to the parents for their vision and spirit of inclusivity,” added Plonka.

In addition to the food fest, the free event also featured an exotic animal petting zoo, face painting, moon bounce house, and a festive and enjoyable environment filled with music and dance. Indigenous Aztec dancers delighted eventgoers with colorful costumes, incense and the sounds of conch shells.
