• 12 Dogs Taken In After Fire At Escondido Senior Living Community (patch.com) — Residents and pets at an Escondido senior living community were evacuated after a fire, with Humane Law Enforcement and Escondido firefighters teaming up to rescue a dozen dogs. Veterinarians at the San Diego Humane Society's Escondido campus evaluated about 25 animals for smoke inhalation, and all 12 dogs taken in are now receiving emergency boarding and care.
