• Update: Cougar Fire in San Diego County now brought under 100% containment (sacbee.com) — A wildfire that started July 5 on Cougar Pass Road in Escondido has been fully contained at 10 acres, meaning control lines now surround the burn area and it's no longer spreading. Firefighters will still monitor and work the interior, but residents can be reassured the Cougar Fire is not expected to grow beyond its current perimeter.
