• Fairfield leaders consider future of lighting, landscaping districts (thereporter.com) — Fairfield may have to refund over $5 million and possibly dissolve several lighting and landscaping districts after a court found the city raised assessments without required voter approval. With an existing budget deficit, the City Council will weigh refunds, future service levels, and the fate of eight affected districts at its Tuesday 6 p.m. meeting at 1000 Webster St.
   

• Walmart plans major upgrades for California stores — with surprising new foods and cheaper deals (nypost.com) — Fairfield shoppers can expect a remodeled Walmart with updated layouts, faster pickup and delivery, and expanded product lines as part of a major statewide upgrade. The Fairfield store is among 56 California locations getting healthier food options, trendier brands, and improved pharmacy and tech services rolling out through 2026.
