Police Arrest Suspect Following Shooting In Fremont

One person was injured in the shooting, police said.

FREMONT, CA — Police say they've arrested a suspect in a shooting that left one person wounded in Fremont on Wednesday evening.

A group of male suspects appeared to be fighting around 6:17 p.m. in the area of Corrigan and Eggers drives when gunfire rang out, according to the Fremont Police Department.

Officers responded to the scene, but by then, the suspect and victim had left, police said.

Using witnesses, surveillance footage and resources from its Real Time Information Center, officers were able to identify a vehicle connected with the suspect, police said.

After securing enough probable cause for a warrant, officers served it in San Jose just before 10 p.m. and took the suspect into custody in connection with the shooting, police said. Police did not release his identity.

Officers, meanwhile, found the shooting victim at this home, police said, adding that his injuries were not considered life-threatening. It's unclear whether the victim was taken ot a local hospital for treatment.
