GILROY, CA — More than a year and half after suffering major damage from a fire, the El Pollo Loco in Gilroy reopened for business this week.
The restaurant on Chestnut Street went through a full remodeling, including a full redesign of the building’s exterior.
The fire started inside of a wall in the restaurant, and an employee who discovered the fire alerted his manager, who was taking an order from a customer. Another customer was placing a drive-thru order. The building was evacuated and the fire department quickly extinguished the fire, according to a spokesperson. There were no injuries.
