(ksbw.com) — Gilroy coffee drinkers should be aware that the Starbucks at 795 First St. appears on a leaked list of 64 California locations likely to close in the coming days. The company hasn't confirmed each site but says affected stores will post signs this weekend, as part of a broader plan to shut 250 underperforming shops across the U.S. and Canada.
   

• High school football 2026: Friday's Week 5 scores, Saturday's schedule (eastbaytimes.com) — Gilroy High football fans can celebrate a solid Week 5 win, with the Mustangs topping San Jose 35–14 in Thursday night action. The roundup also lists dozens of other Bay Area scores and this weekend's remaining matchups, giving South County sports followers a quick way to track rivals, league implications, and where other local teams are playing across the region.
   

• San Jose Says City has 20 Data Centers, with 10 More Under Review (sanjoseinside.com) — San Jose officials now say the city has about 20 active data centers, far fewer than the 47 listed on a popular industry map, and only 10 new projects under review. For Gilroy residents, it's notable that both San Jose and Gilroy are exploring how to regulate fast-growing data center development, amid concerns over power use, water demand and climate impacts that could shape future projects in South County.
