• State Coastal Conservancy Awards $1M to San Mateo County to Undertake Half Moon Bay Landfill Climate Resilience Planning Project (coastsidebuzz.com) — Half Moon Bay's old landfill at Poplar Beach is getting a major boost, with a $1 million state grant to plan climate resilience, cleanup options, and future public use. County and city leaders will study technical fixes, engage residents, and design upgrades that could improve safety and open more recreation space for local families.

Data Centers; Huntington Beach; and More (cp-dr.com) — Half Moon Bay City Council has approved zoning changes to help resolve a state lawsuit over local housing laws, increasing density on several sites and streamlining approvals on 14 properties. These moves could bring more workforce and other housing to town while reducing the need for lengthy public hearings on qualifying projects.
