• Free Marine Flare Collection Events in October 2026 (contracosta.news) — Half Moon Bay boaters can safely dispose of expired marine flares at a free San Mateo County collection event on October 25 at Pillar Point Harbor, 1 Johnson Pier. The program, open by appointment to county residents and qualifying commercial boaters, helps prevent hazardous waste from entering local waterways and introduces safer electronic distress-signal alternatives. 
• M Stark Gallery presents Birgitta Bower: Wild and Wooly II (visithalfmoonbay.org) — Half Moon Bay art lovers can look forward to Birgitta Bower's "Wild & Wooly II" at M Stark Gallery on Main Street, running November 7 through December 20. A public opening reception on November 8 and an artist talk on December 4 will showcase her richly textured felted landscapes inspired by the local Coastside scenery.
• Mountain View Spartans football win against Sacred Heart (midpenpost.org) — Half Moon Bay football fans will host the surging Mountain View Spartans next week, fresh off a 55–48 shootout win over Sacred Heart Prep. The Spartans' explosive offense, led by multiple long touchdown runs and passes, will test Half Moon Bay's defense in what's shaping up to be a high-scoring home matchup.
