• Homewise Appliance Workers in California Join Local 5 - The United Food & Commercial Workers International Union (ufcw.org) — Workers at Homewise Appliance, including staff at the Hayward store, have voted to join UFCW Local 5 after years of wage and commission concerns. Organizers used a worker-led committee and in-person meetings, including an event at the union’s Hayward hall, to build support for unionizing across eight Northern California locations.
