2 Quakes Rattle Sonoma County: Did You Feel It?

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A series of earthquakes struck the Cloverdale-Geyserville area at about 7:45 p.m., with the largest registering magnitude 4.3, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The first quake was centered near Geyserville, just southeast of Cloverdale, at a depth of about 5.6 miles.

The second, at 2.5, struck in the same spot, but was slightly shallower at a depth of 2.7 miles.

Residents across northern Sonoma County, including Cloverdale, Geyserville, Healdsburg, and parts of Mendocino and Lake counties, reported feeling moderate shaking.

As of the latest information, there have been no reports of significant damage or injuries.

The first, and largest, earthquake happened in an area that frequently experiences seismic activity because of nearby faults and geothermal activity associated with The Geysers.
