Record Labor Day Gas Prices Projected: What CA Motorists Should Know (patch.com) — Healdsburg drivers heading out for Labor Day weekend are facing some of the highest gas prices in history, with local stations charging around $5.77 a gallon for regular. Analysts say global conflicts and refinery disruptions are driving record-high Labor Day prices, and while cheaper winter blends could eventually bring some relief, much depends on how tensions in the Middle East evolve.

Police Log, Aug. 17 (healdsburgtribune.com) — Healdsburg's latest police log details a busy week of calls, from prowler reports and reckless driving stops on Healdsburg Avenue to major fraud at a local winery and theft investigations at several businesses. Officers also handled DUIs, construction noise complaints, and long-running theft and assault cases, offering residents a clear picture of current safety issues around town.
   

3. Seghesio: Bigger Events, (Not Too) Louder Music (patch.com) — Healdsburg's planning commissioners have approved Seghesio Winery for up to 32 annual events, but only with "lightly amplified" music and new noise barriers to protect Grove Street neighbors. The permit sets strict guest limits, weekend hours for larger gatherings, and on-site sound monitoring, and it becomes final unless someone appeals to City Council within 10 days.
   

4. Community celebrates the zucchini at the Healdsburg Farmers Market (krcb.org) — Healdsburg families packed the local farmers market for the annual Zucchini Festival, where kids and adults raced and decorated squash and celebrated record-breaking giant zucchinis. With Mayor Chris Herrod emceeing and crowds filling the Foley Family Pavilion, the long-running tradition showcased local creativity and hinted at more seasonal fun ahead, including the upcoming pumpkin festival.
   

5. Sale closed in Healdsburg: $1.13 million for a 2-bedroom home (pressdemocrat.com) — A two-bedroom home on Sunset Drive in Healdsburg recently sold for $1.13 million, offering 1,790 square feet, three bathrooms, and a two-car garage on a sizable lot. Nearby sales on Benjamin Way and McDonough Heights Road show similarly strong prices, giving residents a snapshot of current neighborhood home values.
