• Nominations sought in Hesperia Neighborhood Pride Enhancement Program (vvdailypress.com) — Hesperia residents can now nominate themselves or neighbors for the Neighborhood Pride Enhancement Program, with $1,000 in local home-improvement gift cards up for grabs. Through May 15, the city is seeking before-and-after photos of curb-appeal upgrades, with the winner chosen June 1 and later honored at a City Council meeting. 
• Apple Valley outslugs Oak Hills in a MRL softball showdown (vvdailypress.com) — High Desert softball and baseball fans saw big performances this week, including standout games played in Hesperia where local athletes delivered clutch hits, stolen bases, and complete-game pitching. Apple Valley edged Oak Hills in a 16-13 slugfest, while Serrano, Hesperia, and other area teams battled for Mojave River League positioning. Several Hesperia players shined at the plate in key league matchups.
