• Huntington Beach celebrates certification as state's first sensory inclusive destination (latimes.com subscription) — Huntington Beach has become California's first city certified as a Sensory Inclusive destination, after training more than 1,500 frontline and public safety workers and expanding accessible beach amenities. Local leaders say the effort, driven by Visit Huntington Beach and city staff, is already drawing positive attention from disability advocates and helping boost the local economy through more inclusive tourism.
   

• Late TD lifts Huntington Beach football to victory over Yorba Linda (ocregister.com) — Huntington Beach High's football team thrilled home fans Friday night with a last‑second touchdown drive to stay undefeated at 5-0. Quarterback Brady Edmunds led a dramatic march from fourth-and-19 at the Oilers' 29, connecting with multiple receivers before hitting Nicolas Navarette for the game-winning score over Yorba Linda.
   

• Individual in Costa Mesa, 2 in Huntington Beach infected with West Nile virus (latimes.com subscription) — Two Huntington Beach residents have been infected with West Nile virus this season, as Orange County health officials track a sharp rise in mosquito activity and human cases. Spraying and larvicide treatments are underway, including near Bolsa Chica Wetlands, and residents are urged to use DEET repellent, wear loose clothing at dawn and dusk, and contact vector control for help.
