• 18-Year-Old Arrested In Imperial Beach Antisemitic Vandalism Cases (patch.com) — Imperial Beach residents are being urged to share any information after deputies arrested an 18-year-old suspected in a string of antisemitic graffiti incidents at homes on Elm Avenue and Seacoast Drive. The sheriff's office has stepped up patrols, is treating the case as a possible hate crime, and is working with the county's Hate Crimes Unit as the investigation continues. 
• Federal report concludes hydrogen sulfide spikes near Tijuana River pose public health hazard (sandiegouniontribune.com) — Imperial Beach residents are now officially being told that hydrogen sulfide levels near the Tijuana River have at times reached concentrations considered a public health hazard, validating long-standing complaints about headaches and breathing issues. The draft federal report covers 2024–25 monitoring, notes extensive beach closures, and invites public comment, with a virtual meeting Sept. 30 and an in‑person community meeting planned at the Imperial Beach Library in November.
