• San Diego County reopens 2 beach areas in Imperial Beach (kpbs.org) — Two key beach spots in Imperial Beach, at End of Seacoast Drive and Cortez Avenue, have just reopened after water quality improved, but the shoreline from the border to north of the Tijuana River outlet remains closed. County health officials warn residents to stay out of contaminated areas and check current advisories online or via the 24‑hour hotline before heading into the water.
• Pint-sized California hacking genius arrested for antisemitic graffiti (amedpost.com) — Authorities have arrested an 18‑year‑old in connection with antisemitic graffiti found on homes and alleys in Imperial Beach, including markings on Seacoast Drive and Elm Avenue. Sheriff's officials say surveillance footage and a device seized at the scene aided the case, and they emphasize a zero‑tolerance stance toward hate‑motivated crimes in the community.
