• Chula Vista hires federal lobbyist, dropping Imperial Beach sewage crisis partnership for now (sandiegouniontribune.com) — Imperial Beach's hoped-for lobbying partnership with Chula Vista on the Tijuana River Valley sewage crisis has been put on hold, even though Imperial Beach's council already approved it. Chula Vista leaders voted to hire a federal lobbyist just for their city, asking staff first to map existing regional advocacy before reviving the joint agreement that would give Imperial Beach shared representation in Washington.
