• U.S. Border Patrol and U.S. Coast Guard deter dangerous maritime border crossing (cbp.gov) — Border Patrol and Coast Guard teams recently stopped 13 people from attempting a risky swim across the maritime border near Imperial Beach, turning them back to Mexico without injuries. Officials warn that recent rain, cold water, strong currents, and contamination make such crossings especially dangerous off the local coast. Residents may notice increased federal patrols offshore as agencies coordinate to deter unlawful entries.
