• Two Killed In Fiery McLaren Crash In Irvine (patch.com) — Two people were killed early Sunday when a 2019 McLaren crashed at high speed at Deerfield Avenue and Culver Drive in Irvine, splitting in two and catching fire. Firefighters extinguished the blaze but found both occupants dead, and Irvine police are asking anyone with information to call 949-724-7047 as they investigate.
   

• Philz Coffee Planning Drive-Thru At Irvine's Harvard Auto Plaza (whatnow.com) — A new Philz Coffee drive-thru is coming to 3050 Main Street in Irvine’s Harvard Auto Plaza, thanks to a recently approved city permit modification. The project will refresh an existing drive-through restaurant building and parking lot, expanding Philz’s local presence and giving Irvine coffee drinkers another convenient stop for custom-brewed drinks.
   

• Irvine Police Stop Burglary Suspect Vehicle Leaving Promenade Apartments and Arrest Two Occupants After Finding Stolen Packages, Methamphetamine, and Burglary Tools (centralrecorder.com) — Irvine residents at the Promenade Apartments may sleep a bit easier after police stopped a returning suspect vehicle on Sept. 10 and arrested two occupants tied to earlier package thefts. Officers say they recovered stolen parcels addressed to Promenade tenants, methamphetamine, and burglary tools, and emphasized how repeat burglaries and new state laws on burglary tools shape these investigations.
