Laguna Food Pantry Pantry 082126 (stunewslaguna.com) — Laguna Food Pantry, supported by Laguna Beach locals Jen and Cliff Cheng, is running a Back-to-School Donation Match through September 30, doubling gifts up to $20,000. With child food insecurity rising and CalFresh benefits shrinking, the pantry's weekday drive-through groceries and need for volunteer drivers are especially critical for local families.
   

2. UC Irvine and CureDuchenne 082126 (stunewslaguna.com) — A free screening of the award-winning documentary "The Remarkable Life of Ibelin" is coming to Laguna Beach's Rivian South Coast Theater on Friday, September 18. UC Irvine and CureDuchenne will pair the film with exhibits, research demos, and a post-film panel on advances in muscular dystrophy care and clinical trials.
   

3. Music Director Ami Porat 082126 (stunewslaguna.com) — Laguna Beach's Artists Theatre will host the Mozart Classical Orchestra's 2026-27 season, opening September 13 with American composers in honor of America 250. Music director Ami Porat is marking his 40th season, with three subscription concerts through April and long-running youth outreach programs continuing as well.
   

4. Volleyball Recap: Santa Margarita Escapes with a Win (maxpreps.com) — Santa Margarita's girls volleyball team edged Aliso Niguel 3–2 after a dramatic comeback and will visit Laguna Beach for a 5:45 p.m. match on Tuesday. The Eagles are on a strong early-season run, while Aliso Niguel looks to rebound on the road at Vista Murrieta.

  • Loose dog in Arch Beach area of Laguna.
    We tried to corral her on the fire road but she wouldn't let us close. Has multi color collar with tags but couldn't get close enough to read. Medium… (Nextdoor LB / Portafina)
