First-Ever Senior Wellness Expo Scheduled In Dana Point: What To Know

The free, information-packed event will feature author talks, live music and entertainment, raffle prizes and more.

DANA POINT, CA — A free, information-packed event designed for South Orange County seniors is springing up in Dana Point.

On Thursday, Sept. 17, the City of Dana Point will host its first-ever Senior Wellness & Resource Expo at the Dana Point Community Center.

The event is designed to provide health and wellness information as well as community connections for older adults over the age of 55.

Attendees will meet and greet local organizations, service providers and engage with community resources that help seniors stay healthy, active and engaged, City Spokesperson Jessica Spaulding said.

Highlights of the expo include an informative breakout session led by Leah Vickers, author of "A Quick Guide to Managing Care for Your Aging Relative in California."

The expo will also offer live music and entertainment, raffle prizes and light refreshments.

"We have long sought to create and provide events that bring together our senior community," Deputy Community Services Director Melissa Muraira told Patch. "This Expo is an important opportunity to do more by providing a single day dedicated to helping seniors connect to much needed resources and services that hopefully add to the quality of their lives here in our city,”

The Senior Wellness & Resource Expo starts at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17 at the Dana Point Community Center, 34052 Del Obispo Street.
