The rail service will be shut down on part of its Orange County line in anticipation of high surf along the coast next week.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — Be aware, Orange County travelers — train service will be interrupted next week.

Metrolink is suspending service on part of its Orange County line in anticipation of massive surf along the coast starting next week.

Starting Monday, Oct. 26, the Orange County line will not operate between Laguna Niguel-Mission Viejo and Oceanside stations, Metrolink announced on its website.

According to officials, the closures are a result of expected high tides and no alternate transportation will be provided between the station during the suspension.

Officials said the closure will reduce the risk of passengers experiencing extensive delays and unexpected service disruptions caused by changing tides.
