Highway 79 In Riverside County To Shut Down For 2 Days Starting Oct. 15: Caltrans
Caltrans provided motorists with detour instructions for both days of the operation.
HEMET, CA — Motorists will not be able to travel through two sections of Highway 79 in Hemet starting Oct. 15 as crews work on a pavement operation, Caltrans announced on Friday.
Maintenance crews will perform the work from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15 and Friday, Oct. 16. Driver will not be permitted to travel on the northbound and southbound State Route 79 through the areas between Patterson Avenue and Asbury Street on Thursday, and between Domenigoni Parkway and Simpson Road, according to Caltrans.

Thursday: Motorists traveling northbound on State Route 79 will turn right on Asbury Street, left on Whittier Avenue, right on 9th Street and left on Patterson Avenue to return to State Route 79. Motorists traveling southbound on State Route 79 will turn left at Patterson Avenue and right on Simpson Road to return to State Route 79.
Friday: Motorists traveling northbound on State Route 79 will have the option of turning left or right on Domenigoni Parkway and will follow detour signs at Warren Road and Simpson Road or Leon Road and Simpson Road. Motorists traveling southbound on State Route 79 will have the option of turning left or right on Simpson Road and will follow detour signs at Warren Road and Domenigoni Parkway or Leon Road and Domenigoni Parkway.

Motorists were advised to watch for signage alerting them of upcoming maintenance and to reduce their speed traveling inside of and near the work zone.
