• La Mesa Park Project Gets State Funding, Still Faces Gap (santeepulse.com) — La Mesa has landed $1.5 million in state funding for the long-planned Waite Park on Waite Drive and Murray Road, but still needs about $1.5 million more to build it. City staff and the Parks and Recreation Department will pursue additional grants, while neighbors hope the fenced-off, trash-prone lot finally becomes a usable community gathering space.
