• La Mesa's homeless action plan expires with goals achieved but 'more work to do' (timesofsandiego.com) — La Mesa's five-year Homeless Action Plan is expiring after meeting its main goals, but city leaders say sustaining the successful HOME outreach team now depends on securing new funding. The program has housed hundreds of people, reduced unsheltered counts, and shifted many homelessness calls away from police, yet shelter space and affordable housing in La Mesa remain limited, keeping pressure on local services and neighborhoods.
