26-Year-Old Lawrence Livermore Employee Dies In Motorcycle Crash: Coroner

The coroner has released the identity of a woman who was killed after losing control of her motorcycle in Livermore July 3.

LIVERMORE, CA — The Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau has confirmed the identity of a 26-year-old Livermore woman who died in a solo motorcycle crash on Del Valle Road.

Aileen Perez worked at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, a spokesperson for the lab confirmed. According to her LinkedIn profile, Perez worked as a software engineer at the lab starting in 2021.

The crash was reported Friday, July 3 at around 11:38 a.m. on Del Valle Road just south of Mines Road, according to the California Highway Patrol. A preliminary investigation found that Perez lost control, left the roadway, and was ejected about 200 feet down a ravine. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to Bay City News, CHP said that Perez failed to safely negotiate a turn on Del Valle Road, lost control of her motorcycle, left the roadway, and stuck a guardrail, according to Bay City News.
