Lompoc House Fire Displaces Family of Three, Leaves Two Cats Dead (independent.com) ā A Wednesday morning house fire on A Street in Lompoc destroyed a single-family home, displaced a family of three, and killed their two cats, though no people were hurt. Multiple fire agencies responded, ammunition inside the home intensified the blaze, and nearby La Honda STEAM Academy was unaffected. A GoFundMe has been launched to help the family rebuild.

3. US awards $114M contract for Sentinel nuclear missile school (defence-blog.com) ā A $114 million federal contract has been awarded to build a new Sentinel missile training school in Lompoc, adjacent to Vandenberg Space Force Base, with completion expected in 2029. The facility will train airmen on the nextāgeneration Sentinel ICBM, bringing longāterm construction activity and a specialized military training presence to the Lompoc area as part of a broader nuclear modernization effort.

5. 32 recruits graduate from Hancock's Law Enforcement Academy (ksby.com) ā Allan Hancock College just graduated 32 new peace officer recruits at its Public Safety Training Complex in Lompoc, after more than 872 hours of instruction. Many are heading to Central Coast agencies, including the Lompoc Police Department and nearby sheriffās offices, strengthening the pipeline of newly trained officers who may soon be serving local neighborhoods.
