More Overnight Closures On 605 Freeway Coming Up: What To Know

Between Monday night and Friday morning, closures of the 605 Freeway will start as early as 9 p.m. and last through 5 a.m. the next day.

LONG BEACH, CA — Once again and not for the last time, overnight lane and ramp closures will be in place on the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway next week between Cerritos and Irwindale for a paving project.

Between Monday night and Friday morning, closures of the 605 Freeway will start as early as 9 p.m. and last through 5 a.m. the next day.

Up to two lanes will be closed in both directions of the 605 from Telegraph Road to the San Bernardino (10) Freeway for an equipment-moving operation from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night from Monday through next Friday.

Between Monday and next Thursday, up to three lanes of the 605 will be closed in both directions between Ramona Boulevard and the Foothill (210) Freeway between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., and again from 10 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday.

The eastbound and westbound Arrow Highway on-ramps to the northbound 605 will also be closed during those days and hours as will the Lower Azusa Road and Live Oak Avenue on-ramps to the southbound 605.

All ramps will be closed sequentially as work progresses, with no two consecutive ramps closed at the same time.

Motorists are encouraged to use Long Beach (710) Freeway or 5 Freeway as alternate routes.

The work is part of the $260 million Super 605 corridor project to rehabilitate the 605 from Long Beach to the San Gabriel Valley.
