Queen Mary Opens 3 New 'Haunted' Staterooms For Overnight Stays (patch.com) — Long Beach thrill-seekers can now book three new haunted "Paranormal Passage" staterooms aboard the Queen Mary, adding to the ship's ghostly overnight options. The ship is also rolling out Dark Harbor, spooky dinners, cocktail tours, and classic horror movie nights through October, giving locals plenty of Halloween-season experiences close to home.

2. 17-Year-Old Girl Shot In Possible Gang-Related Attack In Long Beach (patch.com) — A 17-year-old girl was shot Wednesday evening on the 1900 block of Lemon Avenue in Long Beach, and police say the attack may be gang-related. She was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and detectives are still investigating with no suspect information released yet.

3. Evacuations lifted after Hurricane Marie damages Long Beach Peninsula (lbcurrent.com) — Long Beach Peninsula residents have been allowed back into most evacuated homes after Hurricane Marie's surf and flooding damaged the boardwalk, eroded sand barriers, and sent water and sand into about 20 houses. One home remains yellow-tagged, a key stretch of the beach-facing boardwalk is still closed, and city crews continue clearing sand and debris as officials warn of more severe storms this winter.

Song Tate killed in pedestrian crash at Long Beach Boulevard (newsline.com) — Long Beach readers should know that 76-year-old pedestrian Song Tate was killed September 5 after being struck by a hit-and-run driver and then a Metro Light Rail train on Long Beach Boulevard at East 23rd Street. Police are still searching for the fleeing vehicle's driver and urge anyone with information to contact the Long Beach Police Department's Collision Investigation Detail.

Long Beach Port joins plan to build electric truck route stretching from Mexico to Canada (lbpost.com) — Long Beach residents should know the city's port just joined a tri-national effort to build an electric truck corridor along Interstate 5, aiming to cut diesel pollution tied to port freight. Local officials highlighted existing and planned charging stations in Long Beach and framed the project as a key step toward cleaner air for neighborhoods near the harbor and freight routes.
