Police Release Photos Of Driver, Truck Sought In Fatal Long Beach Hit-And-Run
Police are asking for help identifying a truck driver who left the scene of a collision that killed 68-year-old bicyclist Kevin Moran.

LONG BEACH, CA — Long Beach police released photographs Thursday of a driver and semi-truck sought in connection with a fatal hit-and-run collision that killed a 68-year-old bicyclist last month.
Kevin Moran, a Long Beach resident, died Sept. 5, one day after a collision near West Pacific Coast Highway and Canal Avenue.
In an updated appeal issued Thursday, the Long Beach Police Department released images of the suspected driver and vehicle, asking the public to help identify the person behind the wheel.
According to investigators, a semi-truck hauling a trailer was leaving a restaurant parking lot and turning right onto West Pacific Coast Highway to travel eastbound when Moran, who was riding westbound, collided with the truck.

The collision occurred around 11:03 p.m. Sept. 4. Long Beach firefighters initially responded to a report of a man who had fallen from his bicycle and transported Moran to a hospital, where he died the following day.
Investigators were notified of his death Sept. 10, after the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner determined his injuries were consistent with a traffic collision.

Police subsequently established that a semi-truck had been involved and said speed was being investigated as a possible factor. No arrest has been announced.
Detectives are asking anyone who witnessed the collision, has dashcam or surveillance footage from the area, or recognizes the driver or truck to contact Collision Investigation Detail Detective Paredes at 562-570-7358.
